Hey there, what’s sproutin’?
It’s finally spring! Do you feel it? This bustling and buzzing of Life awakening from its long winter slumber, the energy of promise and possibility, and the smell of honey in the air?
Ok, perhaps this last bit is just me, because two magnificent trees are in full blossom on our neighbour’s garden, but still — ain’t Spring just the sweetest?
Now that you have probably picked up on my enthusiasm about the emerging season, I’d like to share why I believe you should feel equally enthusiastic about it, and have you consider all the things that could soon start sprouting in your life if you take some seed-planting action now.
Why now?
Well, now is all you’ve got, but there are really so many reasons why taking appropriate action NOW will inevitably result in a very fruitful harvest pretty soon…
Ready?
- Forget New Year’s resolutions.
- Without getting deep into the wisdom of the Natural cycles, or going on a rant about how the idea of pressuring yourself into making important changes in your life in the middle of winter is a modern-day scam that sets you up for failure, let me just ask you:
- Have you noticed when Nature appears to think the best time for new beginnings is? That’s right, NOW.
- Balance, baby.
- With the crazy tempo that our lives tend to unroll with these days, we are constantly struggling to find balance. The truth is, though, it’s not always the right time to find a perfect balance. The only constant of life is change. Sometimes it’s cold, sometimes it’s hot, sometimes it’s dark, and sometimes it’s bright. And then… There’s Equinox.
- So, when does Nature seem to think the perfect time is to balance things out? That’s right — NOW!
- Into the Light.
- You might be thinking — but Nature also balances things out in Autumn. True! The only difference is the direction in which we’re headed. In Autumn, we’re going into the Darkness, which is a beautiful journey, but it leads inwards. On the other hand, Spring propels us outwards, towards the Light.
- And so, the time to take action if we want to see the results of our actions reflected in the outer world is… You’ve guessed it, it’s NOW!
Ok, ok, Aja, I get it, the time is NOW, but what sort of action should I be taking? — you might be thinking.
Are you ready? Grab your shovel!
Ok, or a pen and a piece of paper for now, but let’s get to work. It is, after all, the perfect time for action, so I encourage you to reflect and write down everything that comes to mind as you continue reading this — and then DO IT!
Now, in case you’ve missed all the hints thus far, I am about to drop some gardening wisdom on you. If you are an avid gardener, please bear with me for a moment. If not, I want you to imagine you have a garden to tend to — what work would you be doing in the garden now?
Ok, let me help you out.
Final, last-minute pruning.
Although the main pruning season is now over, you might still notice an old, sickly twig or two that escaped your pruners. And, if you want your plants to grow healthy, those twigs must go. Same goes for any leftover winter vegetables in your garden — they must make room of the new!
What does that have to do with you? Everything!
Imagine your Life as that garden; chances are, you are feeling somewhat neglected and a little out or shape after the long cold winter, but you can also already feel the new sprouts of possibilities emerging, and you know you have to give them the space to thrive.
Action step? Spring cleaning. And I mean that in the broadest sense possible. From those old socks in your drawer and stocks of stale chocolate in the pantry, to the crippling remnants of the limiting beliefs that are preventing you from blossoming — it is high time to let go of everything that no longer serves you. Yes, now.
Prepping the Soil.
Making room for the new branches and veggies and whatever you decide to grow in your garden is only the first step, though. What you want to do before you start planting your seeds is to make sure they have some fertile soil to grow in. Think dampening, aerating and adding some compost that’ll provide your seeds with all the necessary nutrients for them to thrive.
Are you already getting some ideas as to how that translates into your own life?
Exactly! Load up on healthy, nutritious food, move, get a massage, think positively, be kind, practice gratitude, fill the space you have made with what fills you up.
Planting the Seeds.
And now, my dear, plant your seeds.
May those seeds be the biggest, boldest dreams of yours.
That mango you so love, but everyone tells you that could never possibly grow in your garden? You’ll never know if you don’t try, right?
Here’re the thing with seeds: Some of them might never sprout. It happens. Sometimes the seed is bad. Sometimes, the timing isn’t right. Or the soil isn’t ready. Or you fail to take proper care of it.
BUT, if you never even plant the seed, you will never harvest anything.
And you’ll be left forever wondering whether that mango might have actually thrived in your little garden of Eden.
With that said, let’s get our hands dirty — and this time, I’m serious!
These are the props you’ll need:
- A small piece of paper
- A pen
- A flowerpot
- Dirt
- A seed of your choice
Now:
- Think about all the things you would like to create, or become manifest in your outer world, within the next six months.
- Why six months? Well, in Nature, late summer to early autumn is the most fruitful of the seasons, and whatever seeds you plant now will likely be ready to harvest right about then.
- But also, spring began with an Aries New Moon, which is a perfect set-up for new beginnings. And the next time we’ll have an Aries New Moon again will be in six months — which is when you will reap the benefits of whatever you set your intentions on right now.
- Write your intentions down on your piece of paper and place it at the bottom of the flower pot.
- Fill the pot with soil and plant your seed.
Now, all you have to do is take loving care of your seed, nurture it, and give it time — and you will soon see your intentions sprouting.
And may that serve you as a beautiful reminder that whenever you consciously set an intention, and you do what it takes for it to take root and grow, you will always get to reap the benefits; perhaps sooner than you think.
The time is NOW!
Love,
Aja
